Ocean Beach Noticing Lab @ Sunset Dunes

Ocean Beach Noticing Lab @ Sunset Dunes

Join us for a drop-in, hands-on exploration of Ocean Beach through interactive “Noticing Tools” that help us see how this coastline is changing in real time. Rotate through activities: where we map how even small shifts in water level move the shoreline, where sandcastle experiments reveal how waves and rising seas reshape where we build, where we uncover the stories hidden in every grain of sand.

Together, these short, family-friendly activities invite you to observe patterns, ask questions, and connect what’s happening at the beach to bigger conversations about climate change, sea level rise, and the impacts on wildlife and our coastal communities. Come notice, play, and share how you imagine a more resilient future.

Learn how climate change and sea level rise are impacting ocean beach community: Humans, Snowy Plovers, and Dunes.

The Roving Ranger will be out at Sunset Dunes +Judah to engage visitors and community members about climate change and sea level rise.
